Infertile Text Experiments 1: A Material Absence
The Broken Bits (2022) Letraset
My early (in)fertile text experiments explore spaces in the materialisation of absence through language to express how words can misalign with meanings. Made from transfer lettering that is well past its fertile age, cracks have formed, and words can’t be made from the broken bits. Or they use the marks in between words to punctuate the gaps that appear in a misreading, or they show you’re “literally” shoutin’ to make yourself heard, but no one can quite see.
